Safety Patrol
Safety Patrols are our 4th and 5th graders who assist other Laurel Park Penguins during arrival and dismissal. Their duties include assisting kindergarten classrooms with dismissal, opening and closing car doors during carpool, holding bus numbers so students can get to the right bus, and putting the flag up and taking it down each day.
Student Council
Elected by their classmates on election day, the Laurel Park Student Council is comprised of one representative from each classroom. Student Council Members are invited to lead the student body in a variety of philanthropic and school-improvement efforts. In the past, student council members have led canned food drives for local food banks, toy drives to benefit children at the Ronald McDonald House, as well as relief efforts for the natural disasters in Japan and Haiti. Student Council members have also created posters to support the Positive-Behavior Intervention Support program at our school.
Garden Club
The Garden Club teaches children the fundamentals of gardening, composting, and other sustainable practices in a fun way. Students who participate in the Garden Club will be able to help with watering, weeding and taking care of the plants in our school garden. The garden club is open to students of all ages and grades!
